1st Security's Principles of Residential
Security System Design:

Principle #1  Home Perimeter Protection
First and foremost our number one principle in security system design is perimeter protection. Our goal is to alert homeowners that an intruder is attempting to enter the premises through a perimeter opening (door or window) of the home. This way the intruder is still outside when the siren is activated and our central station notified.

Principle #2  Home Interior Protection
Second principle of security system design is interior protection. Interior protection will backup the perimeter protection with interior protection devices such as glass break and motion detectors. These will catch an intruder if they climb through a broken windows or cut holes in the wall from one home to another. Yes, this really does occur.

Principle #3  Speedy Emergency Notification
Third principle of security system design is notification. The security system must be connected to our central station so the proper authorities can be notified in the event of an emergency. Also, the system must have a very loud siren and strobes to create local awareness of a break in or fire to both homeowners and surrounding neighbors.

Principle #4  Monitored Smoke Detection
Fourth principle of security system design is fire protection. The security system must have monitored smoke detectors. These devices are also connected to our central station. In the unfortunate event of a fire these devices will help to save your property and lives. Hopefully never needed, but it is always best to be prepared.

Principle #5  Easy to Use Home Security System
Fifth principle of security system design is ease of use. The security system must be easy to use. This will ensure homeowners use it every time they are at home, work, sleeping or on vacation.
